Mother News Magazine june2015

Dear Friends
Our concept of bringing out Mother News, journal is to change the society into a positive one. There are lot of factors which contribute to the deterioration of the present community . According to Dalai Lama, general lack of trust within a Community decreases community bonds, but growing Social isolation and decline in sense of Community lead to lack of trust. This can also be due to their family background financial situation, level of education, religion, culture, shared interests, ethinicity, language and so on. It is also due to lack of cultivating a sense of community, strengthening community bonds, or a feeling of trust and by succumbing to violence, racism, terror etc. Researches in the field of positive psychology and neuroscience reveal that positive emotions serve to promote a way relating to others based on what unites us more than what differentiates us. These emotions causes changes in our thinking that result in a tendency to percieve ourselves and others as being similar, which causes a direct shift in our outlook.
Emotion is an effective state of consciousness in which joy, sorrow, fear etc, is experienced that results in physical and Psycological changes which influences our behaviours. Extroverted people are social, and express their emotions, while introverted are more likely to be socially withdrawn and conceal their emotions. It is the driving force behind motivation, positive or negative.
Negative emotions like loneliness, envy, and guilt play a spoil part in ones life which needs change. If you want to live a life of worth living, a life that expresses your deepest feelings, and emotions andcares and dreams, you have to fight for it, says Alice Walker. Singing is a way of releasing an emotionand music moves your soul. Dance Communicates man's deepest, highest, and most truly spiritual  thoughts and emotions for better than words. Negative emotions like hatred destroy our peace ofmind.
Controlling the emotions can be difficult. First, we should be aware of our emotions, whether it is positive or negative; feelings are much like waves, we can't stop them from coming but we can choose which one to surf. Theworld is a tragedy to those who feel and comedy to those who think.
Experimental evidence shows that those in a happier frame of mind perceive members of other groups with less prejudice and hatred. As such, positive emotions play a vital role for the solutionof the societal problems. Of course it may not be a full panacea, but it can be one strategy that can contribute directly to personal happiness while at the sametime create ways of thinking and acting that would tend to reduce many of the problems in todays world.
Another way is increasing hope and optioning in the minds of the People, by looking at situationsfrom a wider perspective and reapraisal which can be used to reduce negative emotions and cultivatepositive emotions.
Meditation, practicing gratitude, and physical exercise can also increase positiveness. We cannot force to change the way of thinking or behaviours of an individual even if it will result in greater happiness for him and his family and contribute for a happier society, one in which there is less prejudice, hatred, conflict and violence. Yet, we can infuse positive thinking which holds great promise which can be used to help to overcome some of our societal or global problems, we face today.
It is proven that persons who have positive thinking, increasing happiness and positive emotionscause to be more altruistic, more charitable, more willing to reach out and help others, that brings
about social change and building a better world.

Mother News Editorial

Dear Friends
Since war begins in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that we must erect the ramparts of peace - The root of violence can be traced to the human mind, our destructive emotions and distortions of thinking emanates from it when one is under the influence of negative emotions like anger, hatred, fear, extreme attachment and greed, this tends to open him up to mental projections and distortions of thinking which obscure him from truly understanding the reality of the situation, and this can lead to greater conflict. Emotions like anger and hatred are at the very core of violence and emotions like fear are inextricably bound to these kinds of problems. Ofcourse fear is not only a pervasive state of mind in todays uncertain world, as a result of things like threat of terrorism, aggression which the people would react of fear. Other factors are conditioning and situational circumstances plays a big role in violence. This comes from the values or messages one receives from the wider level of society, from the leaders, the media, educational system, one's family etc. So there may be a variety influences from the particular environment or situation around a person. WHO defines violence as "the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, which either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury. death, physicalogical harm, mal development or deprivitation. Violence may also erupt due to concentrated poverty, income and gender inequality, the harmful use of alcohol and the absence of safe, stable and nurturing relationship between children and parents. In the year 2013 alone globally violence caused the death of 1.13 million. In USA gunfire kills 10 children a day. For each single death due to violence, there are dozens of hospitalisations, hundreds of emergency department visits, and thousands of doctors' appointments. Further more violence often has life long consequences for physical and mental health and social functioning and can slow economic and social development. Mahatma Gandhi preached that humans are capable of eliminating individual violence and organizing societies through purely non violent means. Violence can be catogrised as, self-directed, interpersonal collective, physical, sexual, physicological or emotional violences. It include violence, a person inflicts upon himself or herself, inflicted by another individual or by a small group of individuals, inflicted by larger groups such as states, organized political groups, militia groups, and terrorist organizations. In the world war I the casualities were 40 milliom and in world war II, it was over 70 million. As per a 2014 data, per year 4,75,000 homicide deaths are reported globally, 1 in 4 children has been physically abused, and 1 in 3 women has been victim of physical sexual intimate partner violence, honor killing, dowry violence acid throwing, forced marriage, mob violence, stalking, sexual harassment, human traficking, forced prostitutions female infanticide, prenatel sex selection are other kind of violences. Mahatma Gandhi says, I object violence because, when it appers, to do good, the good is only temporary, the evil it does is permanent. Further violence is like a weed- it does not die even in the greatest drought. It will erupt again. Pope John Paul II, attributes,'social justice caanot be attained by violence, violence kills what it intends to create. Mother Teresa spread love and served the society. True love will wipe out the ruins of violence and oppression from the human bearts, and do what is just and right. So let us wither away violence and be a role model to the society
